CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #108

Well here we are back for another CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge! Check out the fun sketch to try this week...

I tend to use white in my cards quite a bit, so I challenged myself this week to use as little white as possible. I tried my brayer again this week with a different technique. For the sentiment block I used a white crayon and wrote the sentiment. Then I brayered ink over top and then wiped the excess off the parts that had crayon. The card base was made using strips of washi tape.

We would love to have you play along with us this week, so stop on by and join in the fun!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #107

Welcome back to another challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch! Check out the fun sketch to try this week...

I went with another brayered card this week using two different red colours from the distress ink line. I used a die cut heart to cover up sections on the card base and then used the brayer to randomly ink the top strip. The large heart is a die cut that I inked on the bottom half along the edges. Final touch is a cute Paper Smooches stamp.

We would love to have you play along this week, so come on by and join in on the fun. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

It's another bitterly cold week here; perfect weather to snuggle in and make some cards! Check out the fun sketch to try this week.

I really enjoyed using my brayer last week, so I decided to use it again. I did a bit of experimenting to see what I could do with my brayer and ink on a one layer card. I was looking to create something kind  of messy with some texture, so after playing around I came up with this...

To make the coloured band on the bottom of my card I used Tim Holtz distress inks in dusty concord and broken china. I rolled my brayer first diagonally across the corner of the dusty concord ink pad on a section about 2 inches up from the edge of the roller. I tilted the edge away from the pad so I wouldn't cover the whole end with purple. Then I rolled the edge of the brayer (beneath the purple) over the corner of the blue ink pad. The plastic edge of the ink pad made a pattern in the purple ink when I rolled it, unfortunately most of that funky pattern disappeared when I applied the ink to paper. I still ended up with a neat triangle edge though. I will have to do another post showing the pattern in my sample pieces. Once the ink dried, I inked up a crosshatch pattern stamp and ran my brayer over the stamp and then randomly applied it to the blue/purple edge. Two sentiments finish off this one layer card.

CAS(E) this Sketch #105

Welcome back to CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge, I hope everyone had good holidays!
Check out the fun sketch we have for you to try this week...

I still had a lot of my card making supplies pulled out from Christmas, so I sifted through that stuff first and then went in search of stamp to suit my idea. I've been on a brayer kick these past weeks, so I used a kaleidoscope ink pad for my background and found a perfect lava lamp stamp to go with it. I guess I was really kind of retro :)

We would love to have you play along this week! Stop by and check out the design team's ideas!

CAS(E) this Sketch #104

It's hard to believe that it is only 1 week until Christmas! This will be the last sketch to play with over at CAS(E) this Sketch until January 8th so you can enjoy your holidays, check it out...

I just had a few Christmas cards left to make and I have been enjoying using the Winter Watercolour set from Stampin' Up!, so I came up with this simple card.

There is lots of time to play along this time, so if you need some down time over all the hustle bustle of the holiday season make a card and load it up :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a very Merry Christmas!

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #101

Christmas is getting closer and for any crafter that makes holiday presents I'm sure you're all starting to feel the crunch as am I! Well, if you are working on Christmas cards, perhaps this sketch can help you out...

I went on another scrounge fest for my card and found some leftover rhinestone stickers (swirl and dots), a silver pen and the sentiments that were lying on my desk. The shiny silver paper is actually cardboard like paper that comes in the boxes of labels we have at the pharmacy where I work, so extra bonus on being free! A few snips and a few sketch lines here and there and you've got a simple ornament :)

We would love to have you come play along with us this week! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
